Lower Limb > Lokomat
Hocoma's Lokomat is a driven gait orthosis that automates locomotion therapy on a treadmill and improves the efficiency of treadmill training.
The Lokomat improves the therapy outcome by providing highly intensive, individualized training in a motivational environment of constant feedback.
Lokomat Pro®

Locomotion therapy supported by an automated gait orthosis on a treadmill has shown to be an effective intervention for improving over-ground walking function caused by neurological diseases and injuries in many cases. The Lokomat system assists walking movements of gait-impaired patients and is used to improve mobility in individuals following stroke, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and multiple sclerosis as well as other neurological diseases and injuries. The LokomatPro has been on the market since 2001 and has been a crucial improvement in the art and science of locomotion therapy.
Paedriatic Lokomat ®

The LokomatPro offers Pediatric Orthoses as an optional add-on module. The LokomatPro with Pediatric Orthoses is the first driven gait orthosis that allows functional and motivating locomotion therapy for children. The length of the orthosis can be continuously adjusted to children with the body height from about 86 cm (upper leg length 21-35 cm).
For pediatric use of the LokomatPro, the legs of the gait orthoses have to be changed. The exchange from adult to Pediatric Orthoses can be easily done by a therapist within 5 to 10 minutes. After this exchange, the Pediatric Orthoses with cuffs, harnesses and foot lifters adapted for children can be individually adjusted to the small patient.
Hocoma is the leader in robotic rehabilitation therapy for neurological movement disorders.
Functional movement and sensory stimulation play an important role in the rehabilitation of neurological patients following stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis as well as other neurological diseases and injuries.
Lokomat® Nanos

In 2010 Hocoma launched in addition to the LokomatPro a more compact version of the Lokomat system, the LokomatNanos. Like the LokomatPro it can improve training efficiency, compared to manually assisted therapy, and is suitable for both ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients.
Advantages of Lokomat®Nanos:
- With its compact format, the LokomatNanos is designed for smaller spaces and fits into rooms which have 240cm ceiling height
- Despite its compact size, the LokomatNanos provides all essential features to perform effective robotic gait training
- A driven robotic gait orthosis guides the patient’s legs on a treadmill offering a wide range of training possibilities
- Faster progress through longer and more intensive training sessions compared to manually assisted therapy
- Physical strain on therapists is relieved, single operator mode
- The basic walking indicator supports monitoring and improved motivation through visualized performance feedback
